A Carriage Bolt or Bumper Bolt, is a bolt with a head shaped like a mushroom or an umbrella and a square box under the head. The function of the square box is as a lock when used because the square box will fit into the plate or square box-shaped wood as well. This bolt is static or silent because the fastening is done only by the nut, there is no need to hold the bolt head with a key.
